What we are looking for in our titleholders....

-A young lady who is confident
-A young lady who is a self-starter
-A young lady who is committed to achieving her goals
-A young lady who is a team player
-A young lady who is flexible in her scheduling (i.e., last minute appearances)
-A young lady who is prepared to speak or perform if asked
-A young lady who is prepared to work on behalf of the MOSP to build awareness of the positive things MOSP has to offer and the part the MOSP plays in the community
-A young lady who has access to her own transportation

 
 
 
 
 

Eligibility Requirements to Enter

•  Must meet the eligibility requirement in one of three ways:

1.  Residency - The contestant must have resided within the boundaries of Alameda County or Contra Costa County for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering the local preliminary pageant. Entry date is the date the contestant contract is signed. Proof will be a California Driver's License, auto registration, current lease agreement, student ID or any other official document establishing residency. 


2.  School Attendance - The contestant must have completed at least one full-time semester at a high school. Or the contestant must have completed one fulltime semester or quarter at a Community College or a 4-year College/University within the State of California and must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (12 units) located within the boundaries of Alameda or Contra Costa Counties. Proof will be evidence of registration, transcripts or other official documentation from the appropriate educational institution.

3.  Employment - The contestant must have been a full-time employee of a firm located within Alameda County or Contra Costa County, for a minimum of six (6) months prior to entering the local preliminary pageant. Entry date is the date the contestant contract is signed. She must also be currently employed by a firm in Alameda County or Contra Costa County, (full-time employment is defined as a minimum of 35 hours per week). Proof will be a letter from the contestant's employer.

  •   Must be between the ages of 17-23 and be at least a Senior in High School
  •   Must not turn 25 before December 31, 2012
  •   Must be a United States Citizen
  •   Must be of Good Moral Character
  •   Must have never been married
  •   Must have never been pregnant

Fundraising

Contestants for Miss Oakland and Miss Alameda Cities are requested to raise a minimum sponsorship fee of $350, the first $100 of which will go towards the required Children’s Miracle Network contribution. For that local sponsorship fee, the sponsor will receive a free full-page ad in our program book. A local sponsorship can come from a single business or organization, multiple businesses who split up the ad page, or groups of family and friends. The funds we raise from sponsorships will go toward the local scholarships we award, as well as provide funds to prepare our titleholders for Miss California.
